Politisk musik är ett begrepp som syftar på musik, där sångtexterna förmedlar något slags politiskt budskap. Politiska budskap kan framföras, mer eller mindre tydligt, inom många musikgenrer.

"We Shall Overcome", en sång i vilken stark ställning tas för den afro-amerikanska frihetsrörelsen, är kanske det mest kända exemplet på politisk folkmusik.
